First Day in Salinas!

We left Guayaquil at 9am this morning to drive to Salinas. We arrived at the hospital and were greeted by a crowd of children and their parents ready to be screened for surgery. We quickly set up shop in the hospital and began the screening process. We screened hundreds of children. After a long day of screening, Lori and Laura our team leaders worked hard to make a schedule for all the surgeries to be performed this week. We arrived to the hotel to a meal of rice, beans and meat. We relaxed for awhile and planned for the next day and then retired to our rooms and low and behold NO WATER!!!!!!

Today we begin our adventure to Salinas, Ecuador! The first adventure is making sure everyone catches their respective flights and makes it to our hotel by tonight; so by 10pm Ecuadorian time, our team will be united in the Oro Verde Hotel in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Then tomorrow off to Salinas! Here we go!
